DRAWING ONE SHOE

LESSON OBJECTIVE

For this drawing assignment, you are going to practice drawing from observation. You are going to be using contour lines and cross-contour lines to draw your shoe. The shoe must be in the correct proportion and angle as the original image.  

 

VOCABULARY​

•  composition: The total arrangement of all the elements in an artwork employed according to the principles of organization 

• contour line: a line that delineates both the outside edge of an object and the edges of planes

• cross-contour line: describe form and value; inside lines

• proportion: the principle of art concerned with the size relationship of one part to another

GUIDELINES/PROCEDURE

1. Create a contour line drawing of a shoe.

• Use the photo below as your reference.

• Make sure you fill the whole page. 

   2. Add cross-contour lines to add detail to the shoe.

   3. Complete the activity on the shading page.

   4. Shade your shoe.
