GUIDELINES/PROCEDURE
Day 1: Contour and Cross-contour drawing of the shoes.
1. Find two shoes. You will be overlapping these to create your image.
-
Look at the examples that students made in the past.
-
Think of the composition; how can you arrange them so that you can create an interesting drawing.
-
Pick shoes that have an interesting texture and line details.
2. Shoes must not be parallel with the bottom/top of the paper.
3. Create a contour line drawing of two shoes.
-
Make sure you fill the whole page.
4. Add cross-contour (interior lines) to add details to the shoe.
5. Add a table and/or wall so the shoe doesn't look like it's levitating.
Day 2: Add value (shade) to your shoe.
-
There need to be at least 5 values on this drawing.
-
Remember to have contrast where the two shoes touch. You don't want your shoes to look like one big blob.
