Make your own Deep-Sea Creatures

About this project...

For your last project, you were asked to read an article about the sea monsters on Medieval and Renaissance maps.

For this project, you will create five or more of your own sea monsters.

Common Questions:

1) Can I use land animals? YES!
2) Can I have humans? YES!
3) Do I have to use our actual continents? NO!
4) Do I need to color this? YES! Colored Pencils.

Procedure

Step 1: Do some research. I wanted to make mine about sea creatures so I did a Google search and found the article: Deep-Sea Creatures Photos on the National Geographic website. I copied and posted pictures on here for you.

I didn't find what I wanted so I did another Google search.

When I did a second search I found a bunch of cool images on the Popular Mechanic website. The article is 35 Utterly Weird Sea Animals by Dan Shapley. Oct 1, 2019

Here are the images I used to create my sea creatures. They came from a variety of websites:

Step 2: Once you have found some images that inspire you, you'll need to figure out how you want to combine them to create at least 5 new sea creatures.

The example I made is shown below. I made only three creatures but YOU NEED TO MAKE AT LEAST FIVE.

Grading

In order to get full credit for this assignment:

1) You need to create five or more sea monsters.

2) The monsters need to have interior details. ex: lines to show hair, scales, etc.

3) The page needs to be filled with drawings and text (see my example below).

4) Label your invented creatures. What is it and what animals is it made out of?
